The Wildlife Trusts' Biodiversity Benchmark

An accreditation system that enables companies to be recognised for identifying and managing biodiversity in their business.

What we do

The Wildlife Trusts’ Biodiversity Benchmark was initially developed by Middlemarch Environmental following research by Principal Consultant James Calow. It is the key starting point for identifying what biodiversity means to your company and how it impacts on suppliers, processes, products and consumers.

“We are delighted to have achieved accreditation to the Wildlife Trusts’ Biodiversity Benchmark. We feel it has been well worth the effort and have been pleasantly surprised by the amount of flora, fauna and wildlife already within our site boundary.” Ian Manley, Environmental Coordinator, Marshalls’ Maltby Works.

The Biodiversity Benchmark provides a set of standard requirements that an organisation must demonstrate that it meets. Following a simple self-assessment process, the Biodiversity Benchmark is only awarded after an assessor from the Wildlife Trust has confirmed that your business is achieving the levels defined by the Benchmark.
