Tools for Assessing Biodiversity in Supply Chains
What we do
Tools for Assessing Biodiversity in Supply Chains (TABS) provides your business with a systematic way of ensuring there are no adverse impacts on nature and biodiversity throughout your supply chain around the world.
TABS has been developed by Middlemarch Environmental's Dr Derek Whatling and is now being supported in partnership with Cranfield University and the Government’s Department for Business, Innovation and Skills through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership.
Why use TABS
Using TABS provides a systematic methodology to minimise all supply-chain risks from potential adverse biodiversity issues, giving environmental managers a unique pro-active tool in this key area.
Companies involved with TABS so far include Astra Zeneca and ICI Paints (AkzoNobel). AkzoNobel has commissioned Middlemarch to assess biodiversity risks and opportunities at a number of their supply chain partners. This pioneering work will ensure that current and future products developed by ICI Paints have no negative impacts on biodiversity during their production.
